Method 1: Run Hardware Troubleshooter

Let’s try running the hardware troubleshooter and check if that helps. Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter.

1)Press the ‘Windows + C’ to activate the charms menu or move the mouse pointer to bottom right corner of the screen and you will get the charms menu.

Visit the manufacturer’s website & download the Windows 7 sound card drivers for the device and we can try installing the drivers in compatibility mode to check if that works. Follow the instructions given below:

1)Right click on the setup file, scroll down to Properties and click Properties.

2)On the window that pops up, click Compatibility tab.

3)Under Compatibility mode, check the box “Run this program in compatibility mode for”.

4)In the scroll down select “Windows 7”

5)Under Privilege Level, check the box “Run this program as an administrator”

6)Click Apply and Ok.
