We have recently connected a Lexmark T630n printer to our TCP/IP network. When we set it up on a workstation, it works fine .. for a while. Then we will get a 'Printer not ready' error message. We have discovered that if we go into the printers folder on the workstation and view the port properties of the printer; it will start working again. We don't change anything -- just viewing it will somehow make it want to work again. The problem is the same in Win XP and Win 98 SE.We have other network printers that don't have this problem. The only peculiar thing that I have noticed is that the T630n gives a message on its LED stating 'WARNING: Gateway specified is not reachable'. The gateway that we use is the same one used on our workstations. It is the address for our Cisco router to reach the internet. It is not in the same range as our workstations. Our workstations and the printer all have static IPs.
- Apr 21, 2014 - never been happy with this printer got the blank screen problem going. Last Samsung printer I will buy. This was not cheap and the toner I bought. Using USBlist2.exe, said it was “printing” and stopped at 4788,.
- Hello, I have an end user who is not able to print anything to Adobe PDF. They get the message that the 'printer is not ready'. It will allow the user.
Any ideas would be appreciated. It's a real pain to have to stop and view the properties three or four times daily. Thanks.
Turn the printer on, and continue to hold the Go button for at least 5 seconds, but not longer than 15 seconds. During this process, the Attention LED turns on. During this process, the Attention LED turns on.
We are printing labels on a Sato printer. In between
printing each label a window opens with the 'Printer Not
Ready' error message. This window used to stay minimized
so that it didn't interfere with other applications that
were in use, but now it displays on top of the open
application window. Is there a way to either stop the
error from ocurring or at least to have the message window
stay minimized so that it doesn't interfere with the open
app? I have tried increasing the timeout but that has not
helped. The user says that the error has always occurred
but just started being the window on top. Thanks for any
suggestions.
